pics than mine, because I don’t see any pitting in any of the pics he took. You have the advantage of seeing the pics I took before you look at the pics he took. When I was analyzing his pics, I was looking for circumferential grooves/lines, because this is how cams normally wear, and rust, since they are made of steel. If you look back at his pics you will see that there are no circumferential grooves on any of the journal or lobe surfaces. However, you will see larger spots that appear to be rust. I asked Nick if it was rust and he said it was not and it was just surface discoloration probably caused by oil sitting on them but the surface was perfectly smooth and uniform.
